RULES
The Hostel is a non-hotel accommodation facility at the disposal of guests which finds its fundamental value in mutual respect and peaceful coexistence.
Entering the hostel implies full acceptance and observance of these regulations, which may be supplemented or modified separately by additional notes from the Management.
- Cancellation policies and property rules:
To cancel your booking free of charge, you must do so at least 48 hours prior to arrival. This policy only applies to FLEXIBLE RATES. If you have booked a PREPAID RATE, you will be charged the full amount of the booking, regardless of when the cancellation is made.

- Arrivals and departures
Check-in is from 14:00 onwards. If you arrive before that time, we have a convenient luggage room: leave your bags and go exploring!
Check-out is by 10 a.m. Please make sure you leave your room by this time. You can leave your luggage at reception free of charge even after check-out. In the event of a delay, you will be asked to pay a surcharge.
- Online check-in and identification
Lecco Hostel uses the Welcome App to register guests online prior to their arrival at the hostel via self check-in. Through this app, each guest must provide their details and a valid photo ID. Online registration is mandatory and those who do not register before arriving at the hostel will be asked to do so at reception.
For each reservation made, the booker will receive an email with all the instructions to follow to complete the online registration of all guests prior to their arrival at the hostel.
In order to check into the hostel and receive your room keys, please ensure that you bring the same ID document that you provided during online registration.
Guests without a valid ID will not be allowed to check in and the reservation will be cancelled. You will be charged for the first night of the reservation and no refund will be given in this case.
- Prices and Taxes
All prices are quoted in euros. When referring to BEDROOMS, prices are per person per night. When referring to PRIVATE ROOMS, prices are per room per night, regardless of the number of people in the room.
Prices do not include tourist tax, which for our hostel is €1.50 per person per night. The sojourn tax will be added to the daily price of the bed/room and will be charged upon check-in. (Guests under the age of 14 are exempt from the city tax and will have to fill in and sign an exemption declaration upon check-in)
Prices include VAT.
In case of an extension of the reservation, the rates applied will be those valid on the date the extension is made.
- Payments
The amount due for the reservation must be paid upon check-in.
In order to reserve a bed with us you must provide your credit card details as a guarantee. Lecco Hostel reserves the right to charge the ENTIRE AMOUNT of the booking in the event of no-show, late cancellation by the guest or early departure.
Please note that we accept cash, credit card and bank transfer payments.
- Age restrictions
Guests under the age of 18 cannot stay in the dormitories, they must book private rooms, even if accompanied by their parents.
In addition, guests under the age of 18 must:
– be accompanied by at least one adult (over 18)
– present at check-in a printed authorisation signed by their parents, if they are not travelling with them (Minor form downloadable here).
– present copies of their parents’ documents
– present their identity document
- Room allocation
Unless you choose a PRIVATE ROOM, your reservation refers to a BED IN A SHARED DORMITORY. Reserving the maximum number of beds in a dormitory does not mean reserving an entire dormitory; beds allocated for the reservation may be located in different dormitories, depending on availability.
If you are travelling with friends or family, we recommend that you book PRIVATE ROOMS to ensure that you can stay together.
Please note that we have FEMALE, MALE or MIXED (boys and girls) ROOMS. So be careful when booking your bed and make sure you choose the correct dorm type.
- Electronic room keys
Upon check-in you will be given an electronic key card which will give you access to both the hostel and your room. Should you lose your key card, you will be charged €10.00 for its replacement.
- Conduct of guests
The comfort, safety and security of our guests are very important to us. Guests who, in the opinion of our staff, compromise the comfort, safety or security of other guests, staff or local residents will be asked to leave the hostel without refund. Guests are expected to respect other guests, staff, local residents and the property.
- Nightly rest
We kindly ask you to observe the statutory quiet hours, avoiding noise from 10pm to 7am. Even when using devices, please keep the volume moderate so as not to disturb the rest of other guests.
- Food consumption
For reasons of hygiene and safety, the preparation and consumption of food in rooms is prohibited (fire alarm installed)
- Smoking ban/Drug ban
Smoking inside the hostel is prohibited by law, as is the use of drugs.
Guests may smoke in front of the hostel, just outside the building.
- Consumption of alcohol
We do not serve alcoholic beverages to persons under the age of 18.
Guests are not allowed to bring their own alcohol into the Lecco Hostel; alcoholic beverages must only be purchased at the hostel bar. Alcohol is not permitted inside the dormitories.
- Personal property
Each bed has a personal locker inside the dormitory. It is the guest’s responsibility to ensure that personal belongings are kept safe at all times. Lecco Hostel accepts no responsibility for the loss, theft or damage of guests’ belongings. We recommend that guests bring a padlock to use for luggage and lockers. Padlocks are on sale at reception.
- Damage to Lecco Hostel property
Guests are required to reimburse Lecco Hostel for any damage caused by inappropriate behaviour during their stay. Any amount will be charged to the credit card provided at the time of booking.
- Liability
Except in the event of death or personal injury caused by our negligence, the liability of Lecco Hostel shall always be limited to the value of the services booked.
- Errors and omissions
Any omissions or errors in the sales documentation, web pages/websites, order form, quotation, price list, order confirmation, dispatch note, invoice or other documents issued by Lecco Hostel may be corrected by Lecco Hostel without liability. We will inform you of any changes at the time of booking or as soon as reasonably possible.
- Discretion
All bookings are subject to availability and Lecco Hostel reserves the right to refuse any booking at its discretion. The maximum stay at our facility cannot exceed 15 days, even if not continuously. Persons in an obvious state of mental or physical impairment cannot be accommodated.
- Visitors
Access to the room floor (first floor) is reserved exclusively for registered guests. Persons from outside the hostel who have not made a regular reservation are not permitted to enter.
It is not permitted to enter rooms other than the one assigned or the one in which the assigned bed is located. Even temporary changes of ROOM/BEDS are not permitted unless authorised by reception.
Environmental protection
Please limit your consumption of water and electricity to what is necessary, and sort your waste as much as possible by using the waste bins located on the floors.
- Complaints
Any complaints or inefficiencies must be reported IMMEDIATELY to the reception staff.
